Important Dates:
Projects Due: Monday, March 12, 2012 (keep in classrooms)
Judging: Tuesday – Friday, March 13-16
Awards for Winners – Wednesday, March 22nd at Flag Ceremony (1st, 2nd, 3rd place, plus honorable mention per grade level)
Set up for Science Fair – Thursday, March 22nd Anytime after 8:30 am – Look for table by grade level and bring up your winners from the Science Fair or grade level projects
Science Fair – Thursday, March 22, 2012 – All winning projects will be on display with their winning ribbons in the Cafeteria (7th and 8th graders will be presenting and judged on the evening of March 22)
Pick up Projects – Friday, March 23, 2012 – Please have your student pick his/her project up from the cafeteria in the morning.
Science Fair Guidelines:
1. Each classroom will submit at least one (no more than 3)Science Fair Projects – A total of 9 per grade level (K-8)
2. Science Fair Projects must follow the Scientific Method in order to be considered in judging and win an award (see Powerpoint for Sample Scientific Method)
3. A model, or pictures of model (where an actual model is not possible) must accompany the project
4. The project will be organized neatly on a Display Board (see Powerpoint)
5. Judges will walk through your classroom the week of March 13-16th (Tues-Friday), and will not be asking students questions about their projects – Winning projects will be displayed with their ribbons at the Science Fair in the Cafeteria
6. 7th and 8th grade judging will happen the evening of the Science Fair in the Cafeteria – this will avoid the congestion from last year, and allow the younger students something to look forward to

8. ***All Students are welcome to enter their project (Classrooms will be submitting the top three projects to the school competition.
***Please refer to the power points attached, and also found on our school website (one for elementary, one for middle school) – all projects will be judged on the scientific process.
